6 Tips on How to Care for Your Plated Jewelry
A frequently asked question that we receive is; how do I care for my plated jewelry? Here are 6 tips on how to do so.
Do not expose your plated jewelry to household chemicals such a bleach, Zud or Comet. Household cleaning chemicals such as these can cause 24k gold to discolor and possibly flake or disintegrate.
Take off your jewelry for bathing, including washing your hands.
Don’t wear it in the swimming pool or hot tub.
Don’t expose your jewelry to a hot day at the beach or an intensive workout. Try to dress down for such sweaty occasions.
Adorn your jewels after you have fully applied fragrances and lotions.
When your jewelry isn’t being worn, it is a good idea to store it in some sort of anti-tarnish container, such as tarnish-resistant pouch or a lined box with tarnish resistance.
