HOW TO USE TWO PART RESIN
STEP 1: Select a Patera finding.STEP 2: Choose your image from Nunn Design’s Carta line.
STEP 3: Punch out the presized image with the Nunn Design punches.
STEP 4: Place image face down on a clean piece of paper. Using Nunn Design Glue and a paint brush apply a thin even coat over the full backside of the image. Try to get the side edge of the paper allowing the full piece of paper to be coated. This is important because it prevents the gel from seeping underneath the image. Rinse paint brush in water. Place image into the base of the Patera and burnish well.
STEP 5: Apply a thin coat of Nunn Design Sealant over the top of the image with a clean paint brush. Place pendant on wax paper. Let dry for 20 minutes. Tip: If you have streak marks brush a coat in one direction, then while wet brush in a second direction making a cross hatch pattern. This will smooth out the stroke marks.
STEP 6: Carefully read manufacturer’s directions for using EasyCast Epoxy. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for measuring, mixing, and pouring the epoxy resin; careful measuring is important in achieving good results! Fill the heart pendant to the rim with the resin. Slowly and carefully pour a few more drops of resin into the pendant to bring the level just above the rim.
STEP 7: Let pendant sit for about 5 minutes. There will probably be some air bubbles in the resin. If so, help the resin “degas” by exhaling onto the surface of the resin. Pop additional bubbles with a straight pin. Cover pendant with a glass cup or bowl to protect it from dust particles as it cures. Check the pendant occasionally and pop any air bubbles. Allow pendant to cure completely. In most cases, this takes at least 24 hours.
STEP 8: Check out accent options in the Accenti section.
