The team from Artbeads came to Port Townsend last month to take a class with me. Here are some of the finished bracelets they made. Pretty amazing don’t you think! All in one day we covered over 7 different techniques!
Techniques:
Here are the techniques used for the various charms on these bracelets! You can watch the videos we’ve done with Artbeads to learn how!
1. How to Create a Silicone Putty Mold
Silicone Putty Molds are fun to use for all sorts of creations! This video goes over how to make and use them.
2. Creating Sculptured Relief in Bezel Frames.
This technique shows how to use a silicone molding putty to create a Sculpted Resin Mold, followed by colorizing Nunn Design 2 Part Resin with colorants and mica powders.
Read blog: Sculpted Relief Resin Mold within an Open Bezel
3. How to Create Faux Porcelain Sculptured Relief
This technique involves using a silicone molding putty to create a mold, then mixing and using Crystal Clay to create an impression in the mold. Followed by to colorizing Nunn Design 2-Part Resin and then how to apply it to onto the impression.
4. Open Frame Pendants with Epoxy Resin
Learn the tips and tricks on how to apply packing tape to an open bezel and fill it with colorized Nunn Design Resin.
5. Colored Resin Faux French Enamel Technique
This technique uses transfer sheets on top of cured colored resin for a fun Faux French Enamel look.
6. Colored Resin and Textured Epoxy Clay
Texturize your epoxy clay on a flat tag, or in a pendant and then apply colorized Nunn Design Resin for this look.
7. Create Colored Resin
Colorized Resin in a pendant can be a great backdrop to embedding some brass stampings and covering it with clear resin!
8. Epoxy Clay and Clay Squishers
Epoxy Clay looks beautiful when you texturize it with clay squishers and then rub on some mica powders.
Classes
Speaking of these techniques, do you want to take classes covering them? We have two things scheduled for 2017. One is a series of classes that I will be teaching in Tucson at the To Bead True Blue Show. See the classes and sign-up here: Tucson 2017 Classes
Second, I will be teaching here in Port Townsend in April of 2017. This is a 3 day retreat and has limited space. If you are interested in this one, you might want to get your name on the list now. Do so by emailing Cheryl at Cheryl@nunndesign.com. To see the class that we offered in 2016, see this post here: Nunn Design Class Was a Blast!

I love having these all in one place. For some reason, I have problems with #2- “Sculpture Relief in Bezel Frames”. I’m obsessed with the technique (ok, ok – so I even ordered some Ammonite fossils just so I could “be like Becky”), but I have trouble with it. Maybe it’s just that you are super blessed in making everything look easy? I don’t know…but I *will* conquer this technique in 2017. I will. I promise. One way or another. You may want to keep lots of extra resin in stock. 😉
SQUEAL!! I CAN’T WAIT to Play with these techniques!! I wish I lived closer so I could take a Class from you too!! Maybe someday!! THANKS for sharing and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! P.S I made another pair of Sweet Earrings using some Nunn Design Open Frames and LOVE the way they turned out!! HUGS!!

Sweet! I added this to the Brags on You! folder too! Thanks for sending it in!
Will there be an art retreat this year? I’m very sad I missed the fall 2017 retreat. Consider having another.
I don’t have plans for a class this fall. I am going to be doing a series of tutorials online for the month of July. We are calling this our “Nunn Design Summer School”. I hope you will join us for that.
