Kimberly Collins is one of the jewelry industry’s few female gem dealers specializing in the colored stone market. I came across this quote from Kimberly in an interview for JCK.

“Right now, anything goes. As long as it’s cut well, it’s sparkly, and it talks to the customer. Color is everywhere right now: in clothing, in home accessories. I thank the pandemic a little bit for that! People were online so much and it opened the eyes of the retail buyer in wanting things that are different.” – Kimberly

I agree with Kimberly. I think your retail buyers are purchasing from you because your jewelry is handcrafted and made with quality USA made findings, but even more importantly, they are buying from you because they want to be unique. They want to be slightly different than everyone else.

The trend in being different right now is with color, as gem dealer Kimberly Collins mentioned in her interview.
