Things I Love! Volume 8
I love art and the makers who create it.
For me, art has always been my place of refuge. I love creating, seeing, and celebrating beauty. When the world seems to be turned upside down, I turn to art. It is my quiet place where I can connect with something greater than myself, where I can enter my imagination and visualize the world I want.
Artists and creative people are more important than ever. They are essential. Creatives tend to feel deeply the pain and suffering of the world. They are emotionally intelligent. They create to express what they feel and see. They write, dance, play music, cook, and create art.
The artists that I am featuring here today are also small business owners. They rely on both emotional and intellectual intelligence. These artists have learned how to take photos, market and sell, manage employees, provide customer service, and make money. It takes a great deal of intelligence to navigate this path as a creative.
Then there is intuition. Artists must create what their muses call to them to make. They must capture that poem because their muses won’t let them roll over and fall asleep. They must get up and write it down. Art passes through us, and we simply give it form.
Please join me in celebrating art that I love. May you be inspired to lean into all three types of intelligence: emotional, intellectual, and intuitive. Humanity needs this type of equanimity.
