Jewelry Trend-Going Modern!
I wouldn’t say that my personal aesthetics lean toward a super modern look, but there is something about this jewelry trend of Going Modern that has totally caught my fancy. Maybe it is the simplicity, the no nonsense boldness, or the clean lines. Regardless, I’m totally hooked on this trend. Here are some of the pieces I have found that inspire me.
Madeline Tolle is the designer and creative genius behind Geography 541. Madeline’s pieces are inspired by her travels and are infused with her desire to create a sense of place with each collection. Each piece is handmade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and can be found in Urban Outfitters and Free Peoples. Not only is she incorporating those trendy geographic modern forms, she incorporates those lovely tassels that we are all so nuts about!

There is a mother- daughter team behind the modern look of Stone + Smith. I love this line that they use to describe their jewelry: “…we deliver unique pieces designed to make you more you.”

I like the pieces that Mireille Lagow is creating on her Etsy site. They are modern, yet elegant. They are bold in shape, yet the beading makes them softer somehow.

Olive and Poppy create jewelry also with a sense of place. Their crafted pieces are designed to connect the wearer with a moment spent in California Wine Country. These Wine Barrel Cufflinks are modern in the sense of the hexagon shape and are created from recycled Oak Barrel Staves.

Loyalty and Blood’s jewelry line really speaks to me of Going Modern – the simplicity of the designs and the bold graphic shapes. The dark black chain all make this line modern.
