MORE Epoxy Clay Looks

A couple of weeks ago, I did an initial series of posts featuring the many looks using epoxy clay. (5 Different Looks of Epoxy Clay.) This post is a continuation of all the fun ways that I have been finding to use this diverse medium.

I find working with epoxy clay to be so very satisfying because it is something that I can work on and also COMPLETE in just one afternoon of creating. This thrills the doer in me to no end. To be creative and actually finish something…is truly the best! Here are some more inspiration to get you playing! Click on any of the images to link to our gallery. There you will see all the Nunn Design Findings used in each of the jewelry creations.

Technique: Embedding Embellishments:

Incorporating the Nunn Design Brass Embellishments is super quick and easy. I use the epoxy clay as glue to adhere embellishments into Nunn Design Bezels and Rings. It is also great for filling the bezels, allowing the embellishment to rest right on the surface. I love this look.

Technique: Texturing

Texturing epoxy clay is super easy. Basically you:
1. mix your epoxy clay
2. squish it into wherever you want it
3. select a rubberstamp
4. rub the rubberstamp with some baby powder to prevent it from sticking
5. AND roll the rubberstamp over the epoxy clay!
6. If you don’t like it, try try again.

I really like the look of the clay texturized and then left to air dry and cure, but you can also colorize it with Guilders Paste, Swellegants and just about anything else.

Technique: Create Molds

Last week we posted a new series of videos that show how simple and easy it is to use silicone putty to make your own mold (Create Pendants Using Molds, Epoxy Clay and Colorized Resin). The hardest part is trying to figure out what to use to make your mold. I love to use the Nunn Design Brass Embellishments.

Technique: Make a Duotone Look

I needed a wee bit more time to make this project because the first layer (the black epoxy clay) had to be hard (that took about 2 hours) before I put on the second layer (the white epoxy clay). Still pretty great for an afternoon of playing!

Coming Next Week: The Nunn Design “Try This!” Program

It is always exciting to see new techniques and projects, but sometimes it takes forever to gather all of the supplies for that afternoon of creating. Make sure to stay connected as we roll out our “Try This” program next week. This program will allow you to:

1. Be inspired and purchase just the items needed to explore the technique we are featuring.
2. “Try This” offer might include items that we don’t stock.
3. What do you think? Is this cool or what?

I love the mold ideas! I still have lots of crystal clay and have been trying to find original ideas of how to use it!

I hope I didn’t miss the try this offer! I`d love to know what kind of supplies you have put together!

I think it`s really cool and a genius idea to have Try This Program! I definitely would be inclined to buy technique kits to see if i like the technique.

Can`t wait to hear more about this!
