I love art that provokes a memory. Maybe it is a memory of a childhood, or a place I went. Sometime it is just a piece I picked up somewhere along my travels that bring me back to the adventure that I once took – as if it were yesterday. I might not be able to remember all of the Presidents, but I sure can tell you where each one of my treasures came from!
The type of art that Christine Wilson is producing captures this concept for me. “Sit back with your favorite beverage and peruse my site,” Wilson states, “I can almost see your smile as you spot a bottle cap that brings back memories of childhood, or maybe a special moment spent with a friend.” See what I mean? She is creating jewelry that has a way to stop and preserve time.
Christine Wilson spent many years as a Financial Analyst prior to finding her true love of beading. Those days shaped her approach of how she designs and runs her business, Brewed Adornments. “For me, design is one part inspiration, one part craftsmanship and several parts perseverance. If you enjoy what you are doing, you’ll find the time, energy and skills to make it work. While I have a deep admiration for design, it’s the construction that captures my imagination.”
“I’m still constantly trying something new, but I have found my true muse with recycled bottle caps” says Wilson. And such bottle caps too! I love the colors, the bead choices, the graphics. They just scream FUN!
You can find Christine’s work on her Etsy site: Brewedadornments. You might want to purchase one of her great kits and start creating a memorable piece of jewelry of your own. Or perhaps, you want to request something custom.
