Emillia Nunn’s Stand-up Comedy Routine on Being a Teenager in a Small Town

The mission of Nunn Design is: Through collaborative relationships, Nunn Design inspires and nurtures creativity. This isn’t a mission that just guides my business practices, it is a mission that guides my life.

This isn’t the first time that I have featured my daughter Emillia on the Nunn Design blog. She has been featured on our blog for a couple of tutorials, for her wearable art show costumes and in an older stand-up comedy routine she did for a Stars of Tomorrow performance.

I enjoy featuring her because she is a prime example of collaborative relationships. Our whole family is involved in Emillia’s creative pursuits. My husband Brett works with Emillia on the content and writing. Her sister Isabella provides her with plenty of material. I help Emillia stay on schedule and hired her an acting coach. The whole neighborhood sat through many versions of her practicing as she became more comfortable with her timing.

To say I’m in awe of this young person, is an understatement. She down right blows me away. I can’t imagine having the confidence and poise that she has at such a young age. Emillia is a delight to watch and I’m on the edge of my seat wondering where she is going to go next in life.

You are doing a wonderful job! Your daughter she is amazing. She has such a gift and it’s clear you and your husband are loving her as she develops her God given talents. I wish I had parents like you when I was 13 no telling how far I would have gone. I think the best gift a mother can give her child is the ability to have faith in herself and the belief she can accomplish anything she dreams to be.

Thank you. We do our best to nurture her interest and pretty much clear the path so that she can move forward in the direction that she is born to follow. I too wish I would of had that kind of support. I was told I would live a life of poverty if I followed my interest in art. I love being able to prove that misunderstanding wrong!!!

Thanks for sharing Emillia’s comedy routine with us! I loved it…especially the bit about the deer in Portownsend. What a delightful confident young woman. Hope to see her with her own comedy show someday!

Thank you Lesley. It does take a strong family unit that is committed to creativity and self expression. I’m grateful that my husband and I have the foresight to set our lives up to support our passion for art. We have followed the road less traveled and through hard steady work have managed to build something amazing.
