Over the past couple weeks we have been focusing on supporting the Nunn Design Master Catalogue with a series of Click! Learn! Make! blog posts. This series will be your guide to learning over 30 tutorials on using resin, clay, molds and organics through interacting with our Master Catalogue. Welcome to part 6 of our Click! Learn! Make! series.
The Nunn Design Master Catalogue is designed to inspire our customers AND to educate them on how to do the various projects throughout the pages.
Here is how we designed the catalogue pages with your interaction in mind:
- Download the online digital Master Catalogue
- Throughout the catalogue, click on an image that you would like to learn more about. The catalogue will link you to the Nunn Design website where you will learn more. Maybe the project won’t be an exact match, but the technique will be very much like what you are seeing.

Technique 1: Sculpted Crystal Clay with Colorized Resin
Over the years I have taken several pottery classes. It is one of those art forms that requires a kiln and a larger workspace, so I was never able to fall into the habit of creating with the medium due to those requirements. When I started to play with Crystal Clay on my kitchen table, I was excited to be able to create the porcelain look that I so loved with fired pottery, without the equipment.
This technique requires several steps, but is not difficult to do. Even a beginning jewelry artist can create amazing pieces. Let me show you how! Click! Learn! Make!
Although this tutorial is really about creating “holiday ornaments,” it is ideal for learning the overall technique!
In this tutorial, I’m showing how to create this same technique, but in an Open Back Wire Frame. Faux Porcelain Sculpted Relief with Colorized Resin in a Wire Frame
This tutorial shows how you can create a mold so that you have a perfect register with each impression into the clay. Make These Sculpted Relief Epoxy Clay and Resin Pendants
Here is a video where I show the full start to finish overview of how to do this technique.
To learn each of the steps in more detail, you may want to watch this 4 part series of videos Crystal Clay: Molding, Casting, Setting, & Finishing:

Technique 2: Colorized Resin with Organics
This technique has been REALLY popular for us. It does involve being educated about how to prepare organics, how to mix and colorize resin (shoot-there are so many color formulas to choose from!) and how to have continual success in order to master this craft. But, boy howdy! It is worth your time!

There are a whole mess of additional tutorials and videos to help you master this technique.

In this tutorial, the base of the Bitsy Rings is filled with colorized resin, dusted with PearlEx Powders and then resin is poured while the base colorized resin is still wet. It created this fun swirled like look. Make These Hammered Bitsy Rings with Colorized Resin and Pearl Ex Powders-Tutorial!
In this tutorial, the base of the Open Back Bezel is filled with Crystal Clay and then covered with PearlEx Powders. Colorized resin is then added over a Nunn Design Transfer Sheet. Technique 4: Textured Crystal Clay with Colorized Resin
This technique is created with a rubber texturizing pad, but rubber stamps would work great too! Here are a couple tutorials and videos to get you started!
